Skin needling or Collagen Induction Therapy is performed using either a digital or rotary device or a skin roller. The skin roller causes multiple tiny pin point puncture wounds to the dermis and is effective for smaller lines, wrinkles, acne scarring and skin sagging. The digital device is most often used in the deeper lines, wrinkles or scars to further stimulate collagen production and smoothing of the skin. These procedures can be thought of as a "controlled injury to the skin" which stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin, promoting rejuvenation of the skin for a smoother more youthful appearance. There is no permanent damage and recovery time is minimal. Most patients return to their normal activities within 24 to 48 hours. Treatments are cumulative and significant results can be seen in 6 to 8 weeks with initial results evident at 1 week.

Areas of Treatment:
Skin needling can treat sensitive areas that other treatments (ie. lasers & chemical peels) have to avoid such as below the eyes, the neck and the back of the hands. The entire body can be treated using skin needling and many find their stretch marks and cellulite can benefit from the treatments as well. This procedure has also been found to be an effective alternative treatment for hair loss.
